Weekdays (Monday to Friday):

The 20,000 OCBC$ Monthly Cap

You can earn up to 20,000 OCBC$ per statement cycle from the 5x and 10x earning categories. Once you hit this cap, you'll continue earning 1x OCBC$ on all qualifying purchases with no upper limit.

The 1x earning categories (utilities, petrol, insurance) have no cap at all, you'll always earn 1x on these regardless of how much you spend.

How Much You'll Earn: Practical Examples

Weekend grocery shopper:

  • Spend RM400 on groceries every Saturday
  • Earn: RM400 × 10 = 4,000 OCBC$ per week
  • Monthly total: 16,000 OCBC$ (well under the 20,000 cap)

Heavy weekend spender:

  • Saturday: RM300 dining, RM500 shopping
  • Sunday: RM400 groceries, RM300 dining
  • Weekend total: RM1,500 × 10 = 15,000 OCBC$
  • Four weekends: 60,000 OCBC$ earned, but capped at 20,000
  • Additional weekday spending continues earning at 1x after cap

Utilities and petrol (no cap):

  • RM300 monthly electricity bill = 300 OCBC$
  • RM400 monthly petrol = 400 OCBC$
  • These always earn 1x regardless of your other spending

OCBC$ Redemption

Your OCBC$ points are valid for five years from the date you earn them. You can redeem them as cashback directly through the OCBC Mobile Banking App; points are converted and credited back to your credit card account.

The app shows your current OCBC$ balance and lets you choose how much to redeem. Most cardholders save up their points for a few months, then redeem a larger amount to offset their credit card bill or cover a big purchase.
